Caroline's 1+1 party

We had Caroline's birthday party today...on her 13th month 'birthday.' So we called it a 1+1 party (1 year + 1 month)...at 1 p.m. ;-)

We all enjoyed lots of friends, family and food! Twelve adults and 15 kids!! We are so thankful Oma and Jochen could help us prepare, enjoy the kids, and be a part of our birthday celebration.

Caroline was sporting a 'nose burn' from a fall at the Zoo yesterday. She was all smiles at her cupcake, though, lunging for it while the candle was still burning. She mostly just ate the icing, sprinkles and some of the chocolate cake, too. She loves people so enjoyed watching the kids play and being held by the adults. She was pretty stoic during the 'happy birthday' song (reminded us of Caleigh) but gave Mama bigs smiles as she was done eating her cupcake and trying desperately to feed it to Mama off her sticky fingers.

Caleigh and Zach enjoyed playing with their friends at Caroline's birthday party. They shared nicely and only asked for another cupcake a couple times. ;-) Caleigh wanted to wear her princess dress and was quite the accessorizer...she and Elise came down from playing in her room and Caleigh had her Tigger slippers on. HA! Caroline wore the dress Caleigh had her 12 month picture taken in. So cute! Zach was in his favorite color shirt - brown.

We got a great family of 5 picture shoot in before Caroline went to bed. Mama had forgotten to get a picture of us all during the party (but she did manage to keep the crackers and cheese plates full!). After Caroline went to bed, Caleigh and Zach regaled Mama and Daddy with singing and dancing for the video camera. So cute.

A big day for our littlest girl. Much love to her as she learns and grows and changes so much day by day.
