While the boys worked, the girls relaxed!

The snow (back in Feb.) did a number on our largest forsythia bush out front. It was pretty much laying down so Dan and Zach cut 'er down. Zach got so dirty! (Look at the grime on his face in pic. #3.) He loves to help, "Me and Daddy have to go work now! We do it together; it's hard work."

Caleigh thought a popsicle would be appropriate for the watching of work. Caroline was quite content to watch it all. I love her look in the last picture. What is she thinking when she looks like that?!

Zach and the cactus

The wooden balancing cactus, that is. He found it's box, opened it up and played with it out on the big porch for 1/2 hour. He even smiled for Mama on request. ;-) He is better singly than trying to get him smiling in a group shot. Still looking for that good 'here are my three kids' picture. Sigh.

He is getting so tall and looking so mature (and we still haven't cut his hair!!!).

He insists on giving Daddy a 'hug and kiss' before Dan leaves for work everyday. And I get the best hugs and kisses before Daddy takes them to bed every night. Just a sweetie pie and all-around good son.

The Cinderella show

Caleigh was intent on watching the show. They really do put a lot of people out on the stage at these things.

The Little girls and Caleigh show off their duds. And everyone was well-behaved at the post-performance lunch.

Cinderella at Upper Darby Summer Stage

Our 2nd show of the season. And Caleigh had a perfect princess dress for the occasion. Thanks Oma! Caleigh has had this dress for nearly two years and it's fitting perfectly now. And she will be able to wear it a while longer with the extra hem Oma is letting down.

She was so excited for the show. And it was really well done. We met our friends the Littles and the Olmsteads there (9 of us!) and enjoyed lots and lots of Cinderella dresses in the audience. Caleigh was sure she had the most beautiful dress...;-)

And then we had a special lunch out with the Littles. Two Cinderellas and one Fairy Godmother graced our table. ;-)

Back to the park

Between my eye problems and the heat (oh, the HEAT!) we hadn't been to the park in awhile. The kids were ecstatic to get out and run, swing, slide, laugh and play. Oma helped keep up with the rambunctious older two while I calmly swung Caroline (after she finally woke up). It was her morning nap time as we were out of the house before 8:30 and leaving the park at 10 AM.

Zach wasn't much on actually going down a slide for awhile, but then was so proud that he did it "by myself!" Caleigh remains our daredevil, climbing anything that will support her weight. Zach finally did climb up a 4-step ladder with a spotter (that is sufficient for Mama's heart right now!).

They enjoyed playing together - Zach pushed Caleigh down the slide a few times, they rode the big swings on their tummies, made friends with random kids, and kept saying how much they loved going to the park.

Kids and friends

We love when new people come to visit! Mama's friend from HumRRO (her last employment except us, the kids!) came into town from St. Paul. What a hoot! She read us the book she brought, left a cool moose magnet on our fridge, a hilarious moose music CD, and Mama and Daddy say the syrup she brought is only for them! We got to spend a little time with Ms Maggie Sunday night from the airport and before she and Mama went to dinner. And then a couple hours that Tuesday afternoon before her flight home. Thanks for visiting us!!

And random pictures of the kids around the house around that same time. Caroline like to take over driving the tractor. Caleigh made a percussion set from 'found' materials. Zach on his way outside to 'work' on his tractor, gazing at the land (unfortunately in his case, it's asphalt) to be tamed.

There was this headband...

And Caleigh kept putting it on. And, well...other clips and...she's cute anyway we think. ;-)

The first four are when she was on the phone with Papa after Zach opened his new tractor, baler, and hay bales. She was quite tickled by something she was telling Papa or something he was telling her.

The last picture is one in a series of pictures and videos she wanted Daddy to take while she danced and sang around the living room. Quite a ham sometimes! Perhaps the '80s are coming back re: her hair stylin'.

Happy day!

Hard work!
I help Papa!

Caroline on the big porch

Standing and holding things while standing and exploring and looking cute. She is such an easy photographic target!

Ballet, 2nd year at Rose Tree Park

Who doesn't love a ballet?! With longer sleeves and pants on (to ward away bites) and good seats with plenty of eats and drinks and breaks to run up and down the hill, we all really enjoyed the show.

Caleigh again this year danced a bit as the music played and tried to mimic the dancers on stage. A couple weeks later she also did some similar moves in the living room as we enjoyed some music in the afternoon. Oh, and she also happened to have a ballerina-looking outfit on that day (thanks Sharon!) which twirled and made her feel like a princess. She has a good sense of balance and tends to be symmetrical in her movements. She encouraged Zach and I to dance with her...fun and funny!

Zach watched every second of the ballet. Granted he was also eating or drinking the whole time, too. He ran back excitedly by himself from intermission (parent trailing close behind) muttering "hurry, hurry, there is more and more dancing!!" Yep, you try and raise them right. Then after any pause he would look around and say, "more?" and we'd say yes. It was dark, late, and two hours later he was sad they were done. He was also sad the cheese nips were gone. ;-)

Caroline was perfect. She played in the stroller, relaxedin Oma's arms, ate, and played on the blanket. She watched, too, and flapped her little arms as the dancers spun around.

I cruise well, too.

I will come around and get your truck! I will play with it and try and pull it off the table. I got close enough to touch it, Mom! I am so proud of myself (and my brother is awfully nice about sharing). Now...I think I will play with your keyboard you so nicely left in my reach...
