...and he is very proud of himself. He seems to not tire of straining with his arms, positioning his legs/feet just right and getting his body balanced and upright. He is very careful to get down slowly and softly. These pictures also show he is sort of 'slimming down' with all his movements throughout the house. He's so tall, though, that he is still gaining weight at a good clip.
He cut his first 'razor' tooth the day after his 10 month birthday (so on 10/8) -- bottom left. He has been somewhat uncomfortable and now has a good start on both bottom front teeth. He has started to enjoy more table food recently -- cubed carrots, hamburger, rice, squashed peas, etc. He has taken to the sippy cup quite easily and gets very excited when it is placed before him. So far he's only sipped water. He also favors soft wheat bread, eating a whole piece at a time if allowed. When he's done with his meal, however, it should move off the tray or it will be swiped to the floor by the Z man. I do believe he knows he is not 'helping' with the clean up.
Caleigh loves (and protects and kisses and talks to) her brother so much. And Zachary loves (and enjoys and heartily laughs at and likes to pat) his big sister. They both like to read, so many times Zach will pick up a book and turn the pages (or one page over and over) and 'talk' while Caleigh sits with me reading to her. Quite cute. We hope they are both big book worms.
They are certainly keeping us busy and running (usually after them or in fun). Zach will stop in his tracks when 'Zach, No." is uttered. And is so cute! He'll rock back to sitting position and do the 'no' sign, which in his hands looks a lot like waving bye. ;-) And then he'll laugh and
usually not go after the forbidden object.
He still scares us laughing while crawling as he typically likes to throw his head up and down (bobbing 'yes') when he laughs and we're afraid he'll crack his head. He doesn't seem to mind it (again with the football preparation, we fear ;-). He likes to wave 'bye' when Dan goes to work and 'hi' when Dan gets home, and to other people sometimes. We've been trying to teach him to throw kisses after waving, but right now he just sticks a finger in his mouth and smiles (but we think he's getting the idea! ;-)
He likes trucks, and especially making the 'brrrudn' sound when driving them through the house. So cute. He vigorously jumps and laughs in the exersaucer when we say 'jump' (thanks Grandma!). We think both our kids are just beautiful (I mean handsome, dear Zach...but beautiful too).
I like the serious and the smiling picture of my kids. I fear the 'serious' (blank/nondescript/what?) look may be what I get from them as teenagers upon asking them what they've been up too. I think they will have many many good, funny times together too.
