Up and down

This is how I get up and down (I'm getting much better at getting down softly...). And me proudly standing in my crib at home. Yes...mama often dresses me in "boy" clothes -- this shirt said "yee haw" and "giddyup." ;-)
I have so much fun being adventurous -- climbing over things, pulling up to standing, crawling at warp speed, trying to chew on electrical cords and play with the metal fireplace utensils (mama and daddy REALLY don't like the last two). But they let me have some freedom. I think they're trainable! ;->

Can I take this tractor home?

I loved holding onto the steering wheel, making my "bu-den bu-den" noises (that's the sound tractors make ;-) and pretending to harvest pumpkins.
Uncle Logan should be proud that I'm already learning how to ride a tractor. I'm hoping he'll teach me how to win tractor driving contests when my feet can reach the clutch & brake.

That's me standing! Did you know I could do that? It's actually an old trick for me that I learned early October. It was a pretty, bright day out in the pumpkin bins.

Daddy and Caleigh

Daddy and I enjoyed laughing together while waiting for Mama and Grandma to get ready to go to the farm. And what fun we had once there! I saw cows (like that is new...I know all about cows...) and rabbits and sheep. I like animals (we can tell by her stare ;-).

Seven months old!

October 7 and I'm 7 months old. What fun it is to be growing and exploring the world. I'm a happy girl!

Mature

Look at this face!!!

Caleigh is such a joy and we are so thankful for her. If we haven't mentioned it, she is crawling faster each day, and enjoying pulling up to standing. She's a bit of a daredevil, too -- crawling over our legs when we're playing with her on the floor...to get to the other side. She loves to fly through the air and nearly looses her breath laughing (usually with both hands at her mouth). Her grins are getting less WIDE OPEN mouth and more lil bitty grin, and we're loving each day with her.

Cheerios!!

It's October 1 so I must be old enough for Cheerios! They are pretty yummy and Mama and Daddy like them because it occupies me while they eat dinner. Pretty sneaky, but that's okay! It takes me a little bit to get a Cheerio in my hand (sometimes between my fingers and sometimes somewhere within my fist!) but BOY am I happy when I get it in my mouth!

Sunday morning and ready for church! We packed up the car and headed over to a nice Presbyterian church near the State Park. They were sure friendly. I'll miss our little cabin, but not my room -- I enjoy my own crib in my own room much better.

How does a family cross the creek?

Very carefully! Here are Daddy and I conspiring to cross the creek...getting up on the log...proudly posing in the middle of the "raging river" (well, okay, perhaps it was a gentle murmur of a stream). Daddy and Mama were a little nervous, but I was confident everything would be okay, and it was!

I love being outdoors...

especially with my two favorite people in the whole world. They keep me safe and warm and let me crinkle dried leaves (but not eat them).

Our walk-about

Mama got me ready to go outside and Daddy carried me around on our hike. That's our cabin in the background -- cool place. I enjoyed playing with Daddy's ears & head, and looking around over his shoulder. We passed streams and trees, a lake, and the old furnace. I was really good, even sleeping in the backpack as they kept walking and walking and walking....

I don't know why they insist on leaving this hood on me inside, but we're away for the weekend and I'm having fun! I'll even share a block with you -- they're really fun to chew on!

Caleigh enjoyed crawling around the cabin at Pine Grove Furnace State Park. We played games, took naps, went on hikes, and generally relaxed on South Mountain.

She's become quite good at going from the sitting to crawling position and then taking off toward whatever she wants.

Yes, I do like carrots!

After the dreaded peas came the carrots. And much to Mama and Daddy's relief, Caleigh does like real food! She gobbles 1/2 jar at a sitting along with rice cereal, too.
She has since explored squash, sweet potatoes and bananas. What other culinary adventures await?!

Sitting pretty

Caleigh is a pro at sitting up. And Daddy especially likes the faux overalls (shhh....it's really all one piece ;-). Caleigh and Mama love to play early in the mornings. Caleigh is holding one of Daddy's childhood rattles, and seems to like it just fine.
