Caleigh looks so grown up there in a big bed (just a cat nap while Mama got her contacts in, etc.). She likes to be on her side these days. Maybe soon she'll learn how to turn over all the way!

12 weeks old today!

More of Caleigh's cute little face. She loves her Eeyore from Grandpa (he is so incredibly soft).

It was a little warm in the house on Tuesday so Caleigh was happy to have just a diaper on.

Grasping skills increase at 12 weeks!

Well, hopefully this isn't the beginning of a selfish phase.... ;-) Caleigh is really good at grasping and pulling objects to her now (mostly to her face/mouth). This picture was taken in her crib on her 12 week "birthday" [and under close supervision for you blog readers who may fear she will ingest a toy :-].

No, Daddy doesn't let me hold the camera yet. My arms probably wouldn't have reached any farther anyway.
We enjoyed our time together while Mama was out Saturday morning. I like riding in the Baby Bjorn, especially facing out!

Daddy and Caleigh

Aren't we a coordinating pair. Mama had on a blue shirt and Daddy a green one that day -- they both matched me. They said something about a "lesson in genetics" but I didn't get what was so funny.

Oh - and it is so hard for Daddy and Mama not to go all wide eyed themselves when trying to make me smile for the picture. I'm just slightly amused at them. ;-)

Mr. Jiggly eyed man

I get so (let me repeat, SO) excited when Mama or Daddy turns on the bouncy seat and Mr. Jiggly eyed man (in the middle, there) starts moving. His eyes go crazy (and so does Caleigh)!

Zoo - Mama and Caleigh

I love the zoo (but I will not smile for the camera)!
Mama and I enjoyed strolling around and seeing all the animals. It was a little warm even though Mama had a sweater on me. Maybe one day I can jump in the sprinklers with those antelope (or whatever those are behind me).

There is talk that I might get a REAL dog one day, but for now I'll just love on the one Oma made for me. He's pretty soft and barks, too (although I think that's really Mama...don't tell her I figured it out).

I hear it is a little chilly outside

So I thought (well, okay...Mama dressed me today) I'd wear the sweater Oma made for me.
I might as well tell you, too, that I really like to bring my hands together like this. The next step is sticking both hands into my mouth at the same time (it's hard to do, but I keep trying!).

.......and release!

Caleigh kept bringing the ball back beside her head like she was going to throw it, but kept her grip (and then went back to gnawing it). I guess we have time to work on her skills. ;-) I'm looking forward to her playing with the little basketball hoop we got before she was born!

I know how to 'cluck' my tongue and get Mama to stick out her tongue (always makes me smile when I get her to do silly things like that!).

Caleigh's serious side

Just standing around in my crib. Waking up from a nap is hard sometimes. I love to hear music when going to sleep. And if Mama and Daddy don't rush to me when I fuss a little bit, I'll go right back to sleep for awhile longer! [doesn't work everytime, though.....]

I'm so happy in the morning! Mommy's kinda' the same way, but daddy's not at all. He does really like the coffee mug on my pant cuffs!

The three great-granddaughters

While in Floyd, I had the opportunity to visit with cousins (twice removed or second cousins...who can remember?). That's Taylor on the left and Holly holding me. My Mama's cousin's two kids. Anyway, we're Grandma and Grandpa Gearheart's three darling great-granddaughters, and proud of it.

Fun! None of this on the floor business for me...I can see everything from here. And, of course, trusty Eeyore is by my side and always ready for a little rub (he's SO soft!).

Mother's Day -- May 14, 2006

Three generations of women. I was asleep for this photo shoot, but had a great weekend with Mama, Daddy and Grandma -- "talking" and "standing" and generally being a very good little girl.

Up close

I love being held close and being snuggled. Grandma is one of the best at it! It was great to see her on Mother's Day -- my first, you know.

Ciera and Caleigh

I had a good time with Ciera. She makes me smile. She and Uncle Logan watched me while Mama and Grandma went out for a bit (to the Thrift store!). She's going to be my Aunt one day!

I'm much bigger now

Last time I was sleeping here my head and feet didn't touch the chair arms. Kind of a tight space for me now!

Great-grandpa and Caleigh

I love sitting on my great-grandpa's lap. I've changed so much since my last visit when I was only 2 weeks old. It's good to be back in Floyd!

2 months old

And 2 feet tall! Eeyore is so soft...Caleigh loves to feel his fur.

8 weeks old

Caleigh looks a little more skeptical for this week's photo op. But she remains a happy baby and a joy...even if she doesn't often drift off to sleep before midnight.

She loves to stand!

Maybe with a little help from Mama (note the big arm ;-). Caleigh loves to hold her legs stiff and look around at that "high" vantage point. She has no sense of balance, but she is still a bit young. And as of her 8 week "birthday" she is 24" (2') tall. Guess it is time to start marking her height chart.
