Those are MY toes!

The day Caleigh turned 4-months-old, she found her feet. Not one to move slowly, she immediately grabbed both of them and tried to put them in her mouth. Early on, she needed her diaper off for flexibility to actual taste the toes, but after a week she figured out how to stretch her leg juuuust right in any garment.

4-month-old picture (a little delayed)

Here's Caleigh at 4 months. She measured 25-1/2" and 15.2 oz at her doctor's appointment. So she has grown 5 inches and nearly doubled in weight from birth! Looks like she's about 4 squares tall.
Caleigh was smiling in a couple of the pictures we took that day, but this one shows her all stretched out (and reminds us of just how much she likes to eat her hands!).

Look at those straight legs!

We may be asking for "trouble" encouraging her to strengthen her legs, but it's just so much fun to see her having so much fun!
She smiles really wide when she makes the music play or spins the wheel. And you should see her spin her seat around to get to all the toys!

You're next, Mr. Giraffe

You look tasty!

FRIENDS!

That's Whitney holding me and Karina looking on. I felt very safe with Mrs. Stella Esch holding my hand. Ah...relaxing by the pool is nice.

This is the life

Resting on my favorite blanket with pacifier and soft blankie in hand. Under the trees in the shade and the wind blowing softly across me. You go ahead and visit and talk with friends, Mama and Daddy...I'll be right here....

Playing in the car seat

While Daddy fills us up with gas, I show off my famous toothless grin. The snail pacifier holder with the lovely pink ribbon is a gift from Grandma, and this rattle makes a lot more sense now that I can pick it up and eat it.

Melissa Zook and Caleigh

Just having a good time together.

Saucer alert - oh....my.....goodness!

I LOVE THIS THING! These two people make music when I knock them just right. That's me, blowing them a 'kiss' in my own special way. This is how I respond for Mama when she blows me a kiss -- I pucker my mouth just like this and go 'mmmmmm.' Not sure if that's exactly what Mama does, but it means the same thing.

The saucer was a 4-month treat for our little strong-leged young un.

Mama and Daddy are SO silly!

I think I'm laughing in this picture. It took them a couple times of creating this pose to not be in motion for the picture. You can tell that Daddy gives big kisses and Mama is more of a 'softy.' ;-)

When the house gets hot..........

....retreat to the basement! That's what I always say. Mama and I enjoyed the cool of the basement during last week's heat wave.
Mama and I played with my toys and I practiced sitting up by myself (I'm not so good at that yet).

Thanks Mr. and Mrs. Zook!

I love my little bear! He's so soft and cuddly. Just wanted to tell you about it. Miss you already! Keep in touch. We'll have to chat over voice IM sometime (Mama will have to help me set it up, of course). ;-)

Almost turning over

So close...Caleigh was sleeping soundly for this pic. She likes holding her pacifier and pushing on the side of the crib before going asleep. One day and soon she will be too big to lay this way. [July 19]

Caleigh did turn over (from back to front) for the first time on July 12. We were chillin' at a pool party and Caleigh was inside for a nap on the floor. We think she pushed off on a coffee table leg and rolled herself over. She was found happily propped up on her arms and looking around. ;-)

The secret is holding on tightly

Because if you're all lazy-daisy about it, the foot slips, see, and you're left with your mouth hanging open and nothing to show for your effort.
By the way, I highly suggest sucking on clean feet!

Great-grandma Gearheart and Caleigh

I love sitting in Great-grandma's lap! We laughed and snuggled for a good long time. We hadn't seen each other for two months!! Way too long between visits. She was amazed at how big I'd gotten, and delighted in my new "tricks" -- putting everything in my mouth, laughing, rolling onto my side. It was fun to show off!

Great-grandpa Gearheart and Caleigh

Great-grandpa makes me laugh. I love sitting on his lap and chatting with him. He loves to see me smile. I like holding his hand.

Great-grandma Gearheart's stuffed toy

She wowed me with a really cool stuffed toy back in Grandma's old bedroom. The bear had his arms out like he wanted to hug me - and I let him!
Great-grandma and I had a great time laughing and playing together. I sure do miss her. But I'll be back to Floyd again soon!

Grandma and Caleigh

Here we are at Grandma's house, on her deck. We had a great visit in Floyd. So many family members to see and impress...so little time. ;-)

Uncle Logan, Ciera and I

Just hanging out at Eddie's place over the 4th of July weekend.
Mama spoiled my fun and warned everybody that I like to chew others' fingers (in addition to my own). I almost had Ciera's!
Do you like my fancy beach outfit Grandma brought me back from Myrtle Beach, SC? I hope to go there one day.

What just happened back there?!

Don't look at me! I'm just a baby! ;-)

I got to meet Steve and Leslie Crowder!!

What fun we had visiting and catching up. Mama and Daddy usually just get to see them during Thanksgiving visits back to VA. But they couldn't wait another 4 months to meet me! ;-)
Mama has known Leslie since freshman year at Roanoke College. Steve (also of Roanoke College fame) came along and married her -- now 8 1/2 years ago! Congrats to you both! ;-)

My 4-wheeling experience

Okay - so maybe I didn't drive and just maybe the 4-wheeler wasn't even turned on when I posed for this shot...but don't I look good on it?!
Mama drove Daddy back from their river excursion to check on Uncle Logan and Ciera, who were enjoying some fishing.

This smells GOOD!

Grandma's backyard and deck. Mmmmmm......so nice. Grandma declares that I love flowers, and I think she's right!

Best seat in the house

I seem to have "won" the competition for the hammock. And since one should not wake a sleeping baby....I enjoyed sleeping here for quite some time. ;-)
As the rest of the family looked on and generally marveled at me, I peacefully enjoyed the wind gently swinging the hammock.
Maybe Mama and Daddy will get me one of these for our house!

4th of July picnic fun

That's Taylor holding me and Holly looking on. We three are the great-grandkids And that's their Grandma, Judy (of Judy-bread fame for “those in the know”). We all had so much fun together!

What did I do?!

Goodness, folks! I'm just a BABY -- what could I have done to make you look like that? ;-)

4 generations

Great-grandma Gearheart, Grandma, Mama and Caleigh.
So happy to all be together again.

Extended family

There I am! That's great-grandma Gearheart holding me and great-grandpa Gearheart watching me. And, of course, Mama and Daddy there in the middle.

Little birdy

Yummy! There's no denying it -- this is one good bird.
Hey parrot....watch it or you're next!
