Christmas Eve in Floyd -- at Great-Grandma and Great-Grandpa's

Just some random shots of the family enjoying another Christmas together.

The three great-grandkids, Grandma & Kenneth, Uncle Logan and Tracy....

Needless to say, I did not go to bed on time that night.

Christmas Eve in Floyd

First there was hanging out and laughing, then lots of yummy food (well, for the grown-ups) and then we opened presents. I helped cousins Taylor and Holly hand out the gifts and ripped into mine. Since I am the youngest (by far...) everyone watched and cheered me as I opened my gifts. Thanks everybody! What fun -- a leap frog pad and booklets, an animal sounds wheel and a book. I'll be busy getting to know my new toys for weeks and weeks!

More family!

Here I am with Mack, celebrating Christmas with his Mama and Daddy (to the left) and his Uncle, too. It was fun to see him again and watch each other open some fun Christmas gifts. You may not have noticed with our hats on in the last pictures we had together, but look at his hair!! He's only 6 weeks older than me, but has had four haircuts (at the time of this picture -- he's probably had even more since!). I'm trying to not have hair envy, but it's hard. ;-)

Lunch at Chateau Morrisette in Floyd, VA

Grandma, Mama, Daddy and I enjoyed a wonderful lunch at the local winery. I was very good except for the time this other little kid and I said our greetings across the room (think "AHHH" and "EHHH" back and forth).

What a treat! This is going to be another tradition we have in Floyd -- to at least come out here and enjoy the views of the mountains.

More fun in Ohio

A fun time was had by all. I really enjoyed my neat-o gifts and hanging out with the cousins and Grandpa.

Christmas in Ohio -- Daddy's family

Here I am with Grandpa, Cousins Isaac and Eli, Uncle Matt and Daddy. We missed Ms. Flynn, but enjoyed her house and seeing her as much as possible.

Cousin Isaac and I enjoyed throwing toys back and forth (roughly) at each other. They took care of me while our parents cooked a yummy Christmas meal.

Christmas in Michigan -- Daddy's family

I had SUCH a good time with my Michigan family. There was even someone there younger than me!

Mama and I are showing off my first gift from Mama and Daddy - my cool lego train set.

That's me on the other side of Grandma Reed's sliding glass door into the porch -- sorry for the hand prints (and I might have licked the glass too....)

Christmas tree!

Here I am - enjoying the new treasures out in the living room. All for me to play with, I'm sure. I know to not touch the Christmas tree, but I forget sometimes 'cause the needles look so inviting.

Anyway - it's a warm December they tell me. I wouldn't know since this is my first one (notice Caleigh doesn't have socks on...).

My first Christmas tree

On my 9 month birthday we went and got our tree. It was SO COLD, but I think we picked a good one. It was certainly big and tall enough as it took up the part of the backseats I didn't! This looked great in our living room.

9 months old (December 7, 2006)

Hello. Caleigh Grace here. Doctor says I'm 28 1/4" long and 18lbs 10oz and growing well. Just a happy, active little girl, who loves my Mama and Daddy (and Eeyore too).

No stopping me now!

Caleigh is decked out in her matching homemade finery, ready to walk out the door. Okay-- maybe she isn't that advanced in her walking yet, but she stood there steady for her picture (with her tummy shining) before walking toward the door.

Watch out world!

Standing and walking ALL BY MYSELF!!

It's January 3rd and I'm conquering new terrain.

Caleigh took her first little steps at Mrs. Harnly's house. She was standing beside Mama, holding on to her shoulder. Then she was standing "free" and THEN she took four steps over to the toy she wanted to play with next. She didn't seem fazed at all. Mama, rightly noticing the significance of this little feat, wrapped her in a big hug and swung her around the room. Then, it was back to playing as usual. Later that night, Daddy came home and was greeted in Caleigh's room by her taking three steps into his waiting arms. Good girl!

More Washington DC

That's Mama and Daddy's friend, Jill, who met us out at the Dubliner restaurant. My cheeks are a bit rosy as I'd been "enjoying" being outside most of the wintry day.

I really enjoyed the "jungle" of the Botanical Gardens. There were replicas of the White House, Smithsonian castle, Lincoln Memorial, etc. etc. (and I think Mama took a picture of me in front of every one of them!!).

In Washington DC

Sight seeing! Mama drug me around all over DC while Daddy was in a conference. We went to the Botanical Gardens, National Portrait Gallery, Union Station, the Sackler Museum, National Gallery of Art, and rode the Metro!

Mama thinks a local television news personality is in the background of one of the Union Station pictures (but who knows?).

It was clear but really really cold out there (hence the snow suit) and Mama said she fully realizes that I looked funny (but not enough to do something about it ;-)

And later that day

Okay -- I'm a flexible kid, but COME ON Mama and Daddy! I'm only a BABY! This Sunday included church, brunch at the Vukmer's, a Christmas Tea at the CS Lewis Institute, and then dinner with the Byrne's. It was all fun, but maybe next time we'll space the fun out over 3-4 days!! Caleigh was a trooper, but was melting down by dinner. Daddy ate after everyone else and Caleigh had her pacifier attached and at the ready. But we so enjoyed hanging out with our friends that moved from Philly to Fairfax soon after we met. Little Jack is 3 months older than
Caleigh and the Mamas have had a good time keeping in touch through pregnancy and parenthood
