My crocheted yoke

Thanks Oma! I get many compliments on the nice, bright dresses you made for me. And they are so nice and flowing -- perfect for grabbing with my little fingers and bringing to my mouth. Yummy! It's good to have a snack between meals.

The Zooks were here!

Scott and Melissa visited our home overnight. We all had a relaxing time talking, cooking out, walking, and playing with Caleigh. We are so glad they could come by!

We hope to see them in Uganda before another furlough!

Familiar pose

One hand on a toy and another hand in mouth. If no toy is available, two hands go into her mouth (as much as she can manage!).

Thanks Gwen for this lovely kitten (and matching blanket). It's just the right weight and oh so soft!.

Caleigh is comforted when going to nap or nightime by laying something across an arm (blanket, soft toy, article of clothing). She turns on her side toward it and rubs it with her fingers...viola! - asleep!

Telling tales

We think Caleigh looks so different/mature in the picture. She is telling Mama all about it. She has this kind of low 'uuuugggggh' sound she makes when "talking" to us. Her head goes forward and she looks straight at you. She lets us communicate back but we have to talk quick, as she likes the sound of her own voice. ;-)

HAHAHAHAHA!

Mama and I have so much fun during the day! She makes me laugh. Of course, singing, dancing and talking silly are all quite funny.

[You can tell she is really laughing by looking at her tongue!]

Father's Day

Daddy's first Father's Day. We had a great time! This is just one instance of us laughing and hanging out together. I love him so much!

And he says he is so proud of me -- how I go down for naps easy, and am sleeping so well at night. No one seems to mind that I get up once during the night. They feed me and put me back to bed....and next time I wake up it's light and Mama and I play. It's a good life...

Daddy owns a nursery!

Okay -- so maybe this is another Dan Schantz, but don't you think he looks a bit like the owner? ;-)
We traveled to Zionsville (close to Allentown, PA) to check out the deals at the family business.
Okay -- so these people may not be related, but we've heard the Schantz family came through the Lehigh County area...who knows?!
We had fun buying flowers and tomato stakes (and trying to obtain a t-shirt...maybe next time).

Mine and Daddy's hats are alike

We had a great time at the lake. We saw people fishing and canoeing -- it looked like so much fun! Maybe I can learn to pull in a big fish and make my way on the water one of these days.

Caleigh in the great outdoors

Just a beautiful little girl (of course, we are partial)!

;-)

Mama and Caleigh

We went to a state park on Saturday -- ate a picnic by a lake and went hiking! I really enjoy being outside -- looking at the trees, water, birds and, of course, Mama and Daddy.

Daddy and Caleigh

Daddy takes me out most every night to water the flowers, and our garden. He says we'll have squash, tomatoes, peppers and other good stuff before too long! I don't think that's on my diet, but I really like helping and being outside.

Do you hear what I hear?

Mr. Elephant is a good friend. He smiles at me, hangs out with me in my pack 'n play and lets me chew on his nose. [Like my mohawk?]

Out in Love Park

Mama, Daddy and I enjoyed a beautiful day in Philly. The fountain was spewing high, and I in my finery. I had cute yellow shorts on to match my dress and a hat to keep any sun from bearing down on my head (not quite enough hair to stop the rays).
I like getting out and about!

Dress up day

Mama and I went to meet Daddy for lunch and we thought it was a great opportunity to wear my bright floral dress (thanks Oma!).
Before we left, I thought it would be fun to play with my keys in the crib (and maybe get a couple winks while I was there...).

I can see!

The problem with "tummy time" (Mama finally figured out) is that I can't see anything with my face to the ground. Raise me up so I can look down on the world and I'm quite happy to exercise.

See my bib?!

It's attached to my outfit! What will they think of next? This is actually quite handy as I recently learned how to drool profusely (and getting better daily!).

Surprise visitor!

Debbie, Daddy's cousin, visited us Friday night. What fun! She is from MI, but lives in CO now. She was in town for a bike race in Philly (she is a massage therapist for U.S. National Team!).
[She really liked my ducky outfit.]

My new bedtime home

I moved from that "baby" bassinet to my crib on June 4. It's so roomy in here!
I still have to get up to eat once a night, but am sleeping 5-6 hours to start and then another 4-5 hours. Mama and Daddy say they are very proud of me!

Just me being happy

Mama tickled me and then took my picture! Silly Mama.

3 Months Old

It's good to be so old. Mama measured me (unofficially) at 24 1/2" and estimates my weight at 14lbs. We had a great day together -- getting my 3 month old picture taken, strolling around the mall, playing in the floor with Eeyore (is it me or is Eeyore getting smaller?).

Bloomers!

Just a cute spring dress. Mama has so many nice things for me to wear. This number came from my Grandma in Floyd.....wonder where she got it?! ;-)

Warm head

Ahhh....my favorite place to relax and a nice warm hooded blanket to boot! This is the life!

Bathtime is the perfect time to discuss....

...current events, what's for dinner, etc.
I used to be afraid of the water, but now I know that was just silly. It's great to kick back and be all soaped up.

Gimme a hug!

Quick! I'm done with my nap and ready to play!

Daddy dressed me

Here I am at the picnic. Daddy really likes the hat, but I don't think it goes with the rest of my outfit. I'll have to teach him a bit about matching....pink and green are so "last year."

Valley Forge Park

This is one of the nice views we enjoyed. Mama and Daddy took me to Valley Forge Park today (Saturday). We met our friends Mike and Diana and their daughter, Nadia. We had a picnic and saw lots of deer.

I really love my activity gym. I work out here almost every day. It's fun to kick and bat the toys with my hands.
