Fun with the Zooks in Lancaster/New Holland
What a full, fun day (8/15/09)! The Schantzes got to visit the Zooks only a couple weeks after their return on furlough from Uganda. We enjoyed catching up in person during pool/play time, lunch on the veranda, under a tree on a blanket while the three kids napped and through an Amish-styled dinner. Whew! The kids went to sleep before we could get on a main road that evening - pleasantly exhausted.
Zach was happy on the pool sidelines, or sitting on the step with just his legs and hands in the water. Not much of a water baby, but he liked throwing balls back and forth. Caleigh surprised Mama and Daddy by swimming away from us in her body suit/floaty device. She has never disengaged from my arm before. However, that day she was happy to hold onto hands & fingers or swimming away from us entirely, and she improved over the course of a couple hours her kicking and swimming her arms. Fun to watch her excitement and sense of accomplishment. [She was SO tired that afternoon!].
Dan was behind the camera. That is me very pregnant and enjoying the cool pool water very much, thank you. ;->
We miss the Zook family so much and are hopeful to be able to spend many more days with them during these months.
