Birthday celebration

Caleigh had her second birthday celebration on March 8. She enjoyed lots of friends -- little and big. Her parents had a good time too! We ate, sang, played all over the first floor (thankfully the porches were warm enough to be opened and used), fellowshipped....and celebrated Caleigh's 2 years of life!
Zachary slept through the first two hours of the party, but woke up (and ate) before most of the party guests left. We were proud (in the best sense?) that Caleigh had no problem sharing her toys and seemed to enjoy having so many people running (mostly the kids ;-) and talking through the house.
Caleigh just stared at people singing Happy Birthday toward her as Daddy held her behind the cakes. She smiled a shy, but joyful smile when they cheered her blowing out her candles! Such a precious moment for Mama -- to see that grin on her face and know that she was a happy girl.
Caleigh was served the first piece of birthday cake and got an extra flower from Mama (and then her plate was supplemented with the Oreo-strawberry-whipped cream cake). It was amazing to witness her meticulously separating the icing from the cake -- from on top and more interestingly from between the cakes. Only after all the icing was gone did she move onto the cake and then the Oreo-strawberry yummy. Funny girl.
Oma was an enormous help in our preparations and serving the cake, too! Thanks so much!
Here are some pictures of Caleigh and a couple of the little friends enjoying cake...the "spread"...and Mama and Caleigh enjoying a quiet moment before the party.

Aw! We're sorry to have missed it. Caleigh is growing up so fast...
