A view into Caleigh's world

She paints...she dresses herself (kind of, but with such effort!)...she orders her world...and sleeps in a big girl bed!
Caleigh's first painting -- mostly vertical lines using the paints available, with one big swooping arc for good
measure. We were surprised to see her clumping of little people and animals -- peacock and ?ice cream cone? behind the fence with visitors to view them, and all the farm animals and farmer over by the barn.
Caleigh and her bear (and lots of other animals, but no pacifiers!) moved over to her new room and big girl bed on 3/31/08. We're still decorating the room, but she has comfy fun fleece sheets to keep her warm and a nice bug/butterfly/flower/frog theme to enjoy. She doesn't want to sleep under the covers yet, still preferring her pink blanket. So far she is calling for us instead of trying to get out of bed, too. However, we have a gate on the other side of her closed door in case she tries an escape. ;-)
With all her new 'big girl' independence, she is more often trying to dress and undress herself. This takes patience (mostly for Mama) but she is getting better and I'm getting the hang of asking her if she needs help "at the right times" -- like if she can't get her shirt off down past her waist (umm...honey, it goes over your head), or if she has pulled the sock 3x it's normal length by pulling the end w/o getting the elastic part past her heel. Fun stuff! She is growing up.
Next adventures -- no pacifier in the car (the last bastion) and potty training. She has actually gone pee-pee on the potty!! but that's another post...

She's growing up and as long as she does not drink Dunkin Donuts coffee, everything is okay
